What Futels collects, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. In plain English.
Who we are
Futels, also known as Futels Technology, is a software company in Bangladesh. In this policy, “Futels”, “we” and “us” mean the team behind the Futels website and apps. Questions about your data go to hello@futels.com.
What we collect
- Early-access list. Your email address and the date you joined.
- Your account. Your name and the email address or phone number you sign in with, plus your password (hashed) and two-step login settings if you use them. These are held by Clerk, our sign-in provider; Futels never sees your password. If you sign in with Google, Clerk receives your name, email and profile picture from Google.
- Approval requests you create. Your client’s name and email, the project title, file name, your notes, the deposit amount, the request’s status and its dates and times.
- Your clients’ responses. When a client opens a review link, we store the notes they leave and whether they approve or ask for changes. Clients don’t need an account.
- Payments, once switched on. Card payments are handled by Stripe. Card details go straight to Stripe; Futels never sees or stores them.
- Technical data. Your IP address is used briefly, in memory, to block abuse such as repeated login attempts. It isn’t saved in our database. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs.
The ফসলবন্ধু farmer app
If you choose “use my location” for the weather, the app sends your location rounded to about 100 m to our server, which replies with the name of your union, paurashava or city-corporation ward, and sends it rounded to about 1 km to Open-Meteo for the forecast. Our server doesn’t store or log it. Only the place name and the 1 km location are saved, on your phone or in your browser, and they aren’t used for anything else. You can switch back to a district at any time, and the price notebook stays on your device too. Area boundaries come from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics via geoBoundaries (CC BY 3.0 IGO). The photo check runs inside your browser: leaf photos are checked on your phone and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
Cookies
We only use cookies that the service needs to work. No advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
How we use your data
- To run Futels: your account, your requests and your clients’ responses.
- To send messages you need: sign-in codes and security alerts (sent by Clerk), and notifications when a client acts on a request.
- To keep accounts safe and stop abuse.
- If you joined the early-access list, to tell you when the beta opens.
We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use it for advertising.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of providers, each only for its own job:
- Vercel: hosts the website and app.
- Clerk: runs sign-in and stores your account.
- MongoDB Atlas: stores your requests and the early-access list.
- Resend: delivers our notification emails.
- Stripe: processes payments, once payments are switched on.
- Open-Meteo: weather forecasts for the ফসলবন্ধু farmer app (receives only a rounded location).
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete your account (Account and security) or ask us to.
- Early-access emails: until you ask to be removed.
- Approval requests: until you, or we at your request, delete them.
Your choices
You can change your name, email, phone and password, and delete your account with everything you’ve sent, yourself in Account and security. You can also ask for a copy of your data or ask us to correct or delete it. Email hello@futels.com from the address on your account and we’ll reply within 30 days. You can turn on two-step login any time in Account and security.
Security
How we protect your account and your clients’ work is described on our Trust & security page.
Children
Futels is a tool for businesses and isn’t meant for children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. For important changes, we’ll also email account holders before they take effect.
